EUNIC, European Union National Institutes of Cultureis a partnership of European national institutions promoting their culture abroad.
At present, 25 countries from the European Union are members of EUNIC.
Following the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, the aim of EUNIC is to create a network and effective partnerships between organisations to promote and develop cultural and linguistic diversity and mutual understanding between European societies and to reinforce international dialogue and cooperation with countries outside the Euro-zone.
EUNICBordeaux-Aquitaine was founded on 15th December 2008 and its members include the Alliance Française in Bordeaux (France) the Goethe-Institut in Bordeaux (Germany) the Instituto Cervantes in Bordeaux (Spain), the Società Dante Alighieri (Italy) and the Instituto Camões (Portugal).
New presidency ! Since September 2012 the EUNICBordeaux-Aquitaine has been held by M. Juan Pedro de Basterrechea (Director of Instituto Cervantes Bordeaux).
